I'm entirely unsure what you're driving at, my friend. I'm thrilled to be here. In fact I was just speaking with one of my acquaintances in Moss Point, Mississippi and he was explaining to me that in this "foot" "ball", the SEC postseason seeding and brackets are actually partially predetermined with respect to certain other teams and conferences, and that it is literally impossible for an SEC team to face Norfolk State in the Big "foot" "ball" Dance! Well, I darn near jolly well did a cartwheel when I heard this news! Glorious! Simply glorious this evening is! I am ready for some "foot" "ball" and all my ruffian friends are coming over tonight! Bless you all! Long live the Securities and Exchange Commission!

Have no idea why you keep saying this. Boom is not the DC. We don't have UTx defensive players. Your UTx hate is straining you.

I must say I found this "foot" "ball" contest quite intriguing. I really thought it was rather poorly officiated as several times, more than I can count, I saw fellows carrying the "foot" "ball" all over the place without dribbling but never once got called for traveling. Also there are quite a few more lines on the field than I'm familiar with, I did gather that one of them is apparently the three point line as after shooting the ball at the goal they gave the team three points, so I get that. But what do the other 8 or so white lines mean? Also there were a whole heck of a lot of blocks and charges that went uncalled but I realize the SEC is more physical. All in all I think I'm really going to take to this "foot" "ball" sporting endeavor quite well! Thank you again for accepting us into your league!

Nicely done, ATX!

The premise of the question is pretty lame. That said it was a decent game. I really thought Vandy might pull it out but they just couldn't get it done when it mattered. Lattimore looked decent but certainly not "Holy shite! Hand him the Heisman!" like or anything. Both teams looked more dangerous than dominant. Vandy is going to give a lot of teams problems again this year and SC has got to pick it up if they want to win the East.

You missed the point of th question! It was merely an attempt to gauge the excitement of the upcoming season. Hence the SEC members part!

Honestly, I thought, "damn it's gonna suck when we have to start the season with a conference game rather than a patsie." This is what makes the SEC different and better IMHO. We have to be good right out of the box. It makes the whole offseason better. You have something to look forward to, instant results.

What do you think now that you saw 1 game as SEC members?

The same thing I think every year on the Thursday before Labor Day:

THANK GOD FOOTBALL IS BACK!

Hmmm. What do I think? I think that anyone out there who believes that Lattimore is a Heisman hopeful hasn't seen one snap involving Christine Michael. It is amazing how much better C-Mike is than that guy.

Honestly bring the lube, SEC. If you don't... Then bite the pillow because the Aggies are going in dry.

I always receive judgment on Heisman Hopefuls until mid season. There has oly been one preseason Heisman candidate to ever win it, so I agree at this point

I've learned that the SEC is unpredictable, like every other league and even Rant veterans don't know what the frick they are talking about until the game is played.

Yesterday all you self proclaimed football guru's flamed when I asked why everyone was so confident USCe was going to curb stomp Vandy when Vandy looked like a decent team last year. The consensus was that Vandy was overrated, they only hung with USCe because of dumb luck interceptions last year, and USCe was way to dominant to struggle against a Vandy team with no talent.

So which was it Ranters, were you wrong about Vandy or USCe, because the game I saw last night had two pretty evenly matched teams and USCe needed a lucky bad call to hang on to the victory.

It doesn't make a difference. Vandi is showing some improvement, USCe didn't play up to expectation. It was a "usual" first game of ths season.

Mizzou has the chance to beat either of these teams. One thing that jumped out at me was the facf that USCe defense was gassed at the end of the first half. They gotta fix that. They did get thier second wind in the second half and made some adjustments.

I know one thing for sure. USCe better get thier backup QB up to speed. He was not impressive at all.

The pace is the biggest difference. SEC ball control is impressive. Different style.
