So what could stop the flamefest?

Outside of flushing 95% of the posters I believe the best way to do this is create a board for each SEC school but keeping the SECr main board.
Each poster would have to classify themselves based on what team they pull for and would be restricted to only posting on the SECr main board OR their team's board. As far as policing the team boards, you could apply admin status to a reputable poster of each fan base to police their board but they wouldn't have admin status on any other board but their own teams board.
Thoughts?
ETA: Also keep the main SEC Recruiting board as well. I don't see any problem as far as that board goes.

Also, this likely won't happen. That's a paysite type thing that you're talking about.
But I still believe an SEC Rant OT would help, as it would be a place for shitty poster's threads to go.

Chicken said on the main TD help board that they were looking into doing individual team pages and that could be something to look forward to in the future. So that's where I was basing my idea.

It goes beyond the Bama posters though. Would that help? Yeah but it wouldn't solve the problem.

The team pages seem to be more for the lurkers than the active posters.
However, it gives each SEC school it's own handful of topics to choose from that relate to their particular college.

Nothing actually. This board needs to be disowned from TD. It just brings the level of the site to BOL/Tidefans levels now.
