I wasn't talking about playing 8 or 9 in the box. Davis did his rushing against quality defenses and a lot of his yards were gained in the 4th quarter when those teams knew what was coming. So yes I believe that some of the time the safeties were up ..... especially against LSU.

I have no idea what obscure point you're trying to make, but I stand by my statement. Teams played Arky for the pass, and that's why Davis was able to do as well as he did. Davis faced a lot of nickle and dime defenses, and very few 8/9 man fronts.
