I guess there is nowhere to go but up for us from last year. Even though last year we finished 12th and now we're starting 13th.

And even last year, we were better than 12.

We still don't have the guys to play like Anderson wants to play... 6 is too high. 8 or 9 may be.

Too bad it's so close to football season that I doubt any of the few Kentucky fans on here will be around
Except we all post during football season. Nice try though.
I'm not surprised by it given the uncertainty of what we have coming in. Wiltjer should be able to step in as a shooter, Harrow at the PG spot (critical spot IMO) already has a year in Cal's system, and as good as Noel could be Archie Goodwin can flat out fill it up.
And I stick by my Mizzou will be third at best behind us and either Florida/Tennessee. I think they'll have a tougher time on the road then they're anticipating. And I'm anxious to see how Oriakhi adjusts to a tighter SEC whistle. He got away with a lot of shite in the Big East that he won't with SEC officiating.
FWIW, a couple places had Florida picked to win the SEC last season because of experience and etc, so I doubt any UK fan will be mad. Results on the court have spoken for themselves.

I've heard from different people that both should be fine but I really only trust the person who told me about Dixon-Tatum. I have not asked him about Adamu.

Missouri is a lot more experienced so I can see why they might be the pick. Given UK's youth, I'm not sure I would even rank them 2.
The best part though...is that it doesn't really matter what preseason polls 4 months before the season say.
If Missouri is the best team they will need to Show It on the court.
We can evaluate this projection a little better in 6-8 months.

An Elite Eight, Final Four, and a National Championship with teams just as youthful under Cal is why they're no worse than 2. Their talent tends to overcome any youth once they start buying in to Cal's defense.

9th?
I'm actually cool with this. I don't think we have anyone worth a shite other than Caldwell-Pope.

UK upgraded at PG. Also, Nerlens Noel is supposed to be a better defender than Anthony Davis. Not that I believe it, but thats what all scouting reports say.
On Noel, I can't imagine anyone being as good as Davis was. Largely because of his ability to not just block, but to do so in a way that creates offense. And his handles were better than some guards.
That said, they actually talked to Davis about Noel and he said that what he felt would make him just as good or better was that Noel is comfortable blocking with both hands. Davis is almost exclusively a right-hand blocker. That's a nice trait to have.

ya im sure mizzou will be soooo scared to go into places like gainesville and knoxville when theyve played for years in some of the toughest basketball environments like lawrence manhattan and ames (and usually stillwater ok)

Tennessee has a higher average attendance than every school you listed.

Never underestimate a SEC team at home. SEC officiating tends to favor the home team and despite fan turnout can be tough. And when the fans show up, places like Florida, Arkansas, Vandy (can't wait to see how your boys handle that ol' Memorial Gym magic), and Tennessee are as tough as any that you've named.
