After enlarging the photograph and looking at how the gunman is holding the gun I'm guessing he's carrying a AK 47.

What is your point? Stopping an active shooter is not easy, but it is pretty simple.

Going by the EMT's description of the wounds and the surveillance video it sounds the guy used a SAIGA shotgun. Semiauto magazine fed.
