In your mind, what is a dreaded "assault rifle". I'll wagerthis shooter did not have an actual assault rifle.
Not sure exactly what point you are trying to get at with this post, but it appears that he is carrying an AR 15 or something similar in the surveillance footage.

Let's not go down the gun rights path just now.

After enlarging the photograph and looking at how the gunman is holding the gun I'm guessing he's carrying a AK 47.
