Sigh. OK, I will give you guys a shot.

My first pick: Mizzou cornerback E.J. Gaines. He was an all-Big 12 performer last season in a league that is much more pass-happy than the SEC, and was left on an island by himself often and knocked down like 18 balls which was a Mizzou record. Coach Pinkel and our staff really think he may be becoming the best cornerback they've ever had. Those are strong words, so I'd turn it over to you and ask, which UGA receiver is Gaines going to cover, and what will be the result of the matchup? We can do this one by one if you people really want to, I'm fine with it.
Everything I've read on Gaines is good. Can't say I've watched him play, but he seems like an All-SEC caliber guy to me. With the switch of Mitchell to corner, I would imagine our new number one guy is Tavarres King, who had a solid year last year and apparently a strong spring. We don't really have standout wideouts going into the year, but we have great depth at the position with 3 other quality guys who are great targets. Provided our O-Line can block for Murray, I don't think any one shutdown corner would be much of an issue.

I'm interested in seeing our offensive gameplan against yall. Losing Crowell hurts our run game for sure, but I don't know if we are going to try to pound the ball inside or really open it up for Murray. Depends a lot on our offense. We did a lot of no huddle with the shotgun last year to buy Murray some time to throw the ball.

I know it will seem strange but we did well stopping the run between the tackles last year. Teams exposed us a bit with outside run and counters and that is where we desperately need to get more athletic with our outside Linebackers and safeties.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but I don't get how half of you guys say you're gonna kick our asses, when you HAVEN'T SEEN US PLAY!

Since y'all are sounding like more of a deep and talented receiving corp by committee rather than looking for any few individual standouts I guess we can just talk about the rest of those matchups in one fell swoop. Our other corner opposite Gaines is a senior Kip Edwards who has started a whole lot of games in his career, only knocked down 3 balls last year which sounds a bit alarming but Gaines emerged as our lockdown guy and I still like Edwards' experience, speed and ability. He's a Texas kid, don't remember his ranking but he was in that tier below Texas Longhorn recruits but kinda guy who did get offers from the ATMs and Texas Techs and Baylors and Oklahoma States. Good, experienced player.

Safety is an area where we are more muddled. We have a couple players coming back who each started four games last year - Braylon Webb started four then got knocked out with a knee injury, while Keronte Walker started the *final* four games of the year and that coincided with our five game winning streak for whatever that's worth. Matt White is another safety that has at times been hyped but a lot of Mizzou fans have been underwhelmed. One of the players at that spot who our coaches had great potential, Tavon Bolden, got kicked off the team. Bottom line with what you guys are describing as a more deep, spread it around group of WRs, this would be the area you would probably be wiser to try to exploit, as opposed to our starting cornerbacks both of whom I really feel are experienced and talented enough to be ready for what you throw out there.

Bottom line, to me this sounds like just one phase of the game where there will be some fascinating matchups and does not yet sound like the makings of a 48-7 beatdown for *either* side. but we can continue on looking at other areas of the field.
