They sure do hire a certain "type" of coach over there in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah but they were complete shite before Miles. Post the 5 years beforehand for the full picture.

Starting stupid threads in response to another thread is bannable.

OSU had 1 winning season and 11 losing seasons before Miles took over. Damn. Then he brings them 3 winning seasons in a row
Not sure what point the OP is trying to make.

Depneds on who you ask.
quote:
"He kind of got us started with being a physical football (program). We became tougher, in my opinion. ... That was one (characteristic) that, after he left, I wanted to keep," said Mike Gundy, who was Miles' offensive coordinator in 2001-04.

It was in terrible shape when he arrived and pretty good when he left.

Not sure but I would guess Miles has a better record at LSU than Saban did.

Not even sure what you are trying to do here. The question was I wonder what Miami Dolphin fans think of Nick Saban, after he came in and didn't succeed, then bailed on them, and had a shot a drew brees and passed....especially given the qb issues they have had lately.
As for Les Miles at Okie St....they were shite before he came, he got them on the map with some huge upsets over Oklahoma and turned the program around.
If you want to compare records, then Les Miles has a better record at LSU than Nick Saban had...if you want to go in that direction. However, the other posts wasn't a shot at alabama, so this thread you started is completely ignorant.

Seriously, I wonder if Okie St. would swap right now coach for coach? I think Gundy could do just as good as Miles at LSU . On the other hand could Miles keep up the success at Okie St. that Gundy has built?

A lot of people liked him, but they weren't sad to see him go. Lots of talk about how T. Boone hated him because Les didn't bow at every moment and didn't run to him like a puppy and lick his face to get donations.
It's been told over and over how Les didn't even return T. Boone's phone calls when he offered to build an IPF. I respect LM greatly for him telling T.Boone he appreciates the support but he wasn't going to let anyone run his program but him. The AD, President, Alum. Assoc, and Foundation director are all T. Boone puppets and the hero worship here is almost as bad the Paterno worship at Penn. St.
There's also a portion of the OSU fanbase that is really pissed that Miles left because he was building a competitive team, the recruiting was suspect especially with bringing in bad character guys. Many thought Miles coasted his last year as he was actively seeking other jobs.
The overall sentiment is he was a god send after
Bob Simmons, and basically opened the eyes of the fanbase of what they could become and that they didn't have to be OU's whipping boy anymore. They loooooove Gundy. I think he's awesome and he's a pretty dang cool dude. Always been gracious and willing to chit chat when I've been around him. He complemented me many times on helping the kiddos learn basketball. I ref'd and coached some peewee hoops a couple years back.
