Mississippi State 2012 Football Schedule
Sept. 1, Jackson State
Sept. 8, vs. Auburn
Sept. 15, at Troy
Sept. 22, vs. South Alabama
Oct. 6, at Kentucky
Oct. 13, vs. Tennessee
Oct. 20, vs. Middle Tennessee
Oct. 27, at Alabama
Nov. 3, vs. Texas A&M
Nov. 10, at LSU
Nov. 17, vs. Arkansas
Nov. 24, at Ole Miss
Bold Prediction
Mississippi St will be at least 6-1 by the time they play Alabama on October 27th.
This means they will get a win over either Tennessee or Auburn (Tennessee is more likely).
Both games are in Starkville where State has played up to the competition in the past.
I wouldn't sleep on Troy either (ask any LSU fan).
The back end of their schedule is arduous with Bama, A&M, LSU, and Arkansas in consecutive weeks.
However, I think they will have enough left in the tank to overcome Ole Miss in Oxford on November 24th.
7-5 final regular season record with a respectable bowl season appearance.

Doesn't take much. All you have to do is be running on fumes.

I see them dropping the Auburn and Tennessee games early on.
They'll pick off Texas A&M and finish 7-5 and head to the Liberty Bowl.

8-4, I think we take 2 of 3 from Auburn, TN and A&M. All being at home.

I do expect big things out of Tyler Russell.
18 passing TDs, 8 rushing TDs would be a great season for him.

A&M will be coming off Auburn that week on the road so it's possible but I would be a little surprised.

anything less than 8 wins will be disappointing
Veteran group of WR's
Best Defense Mullen has had yet
Very good interior OL
Good RB's
If the OL can stay healthy- less than 8 wins would be underachieving with the schedule we have

8 rushing TDs
Do not see this happening.

We will be 8-0 rolling into Tuscaloosa. State will get hype early on enough to have College Gameday roll in to cover the Battle of the Undefeated in Bryant Denny. To which we will promptly and without much fuss allow Bama to hang 60 on us.

Schedule is very managable. Esp with 2 for sure losses on the road.

That will be amazing considering State only plays seven game prior to Alabama

I doubt he'll have the rushing TD's, but I do expect him to run just a little. Honestly though, it won't take much to break every passing record we have in the books. Our passing yards record is like 2600, TD's like 18 or 20 or so, and completion is something like 58%(By Tyson Lee of all people).

Yes, please elaborate on why Miss State beating Tennessee at home is so impossibly humorous.

A&M lost six games in the Big 12 last year, you'd have to be pretty stupid to be surprised at them losing in Starkville.
