Mizzou's best chance is right now while Florida and Tennessee are at all time low's and Georgia is coached by a really nice guy. If things go their way, Mizzou could be an East contender this year. Franklin is no Cam Newton, but he has a very similar skill set that Cam proved could be wildly successful in the SEC. Combine that with an elite offensive weapon in DGB and you have a team no one can take lightly. They WILL beat UGA.

I think Mizzou becomes a permanent middle of the pack team once UF and UT come back though. Mizzou is like Iowa or Arkansas. Decent program that can be competitive every year with strategic recruiting and redshirting, but the distance from the recruiting hot spots will limit their long term potential.

The West is too strong currently for aTm to contend for an SEC title. I do think they have unlimited potential though, particularly when they upgrade to SEC level facilities and have a 100k seat stadium within a short drive of Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. In about 3 to 4 years they will have top 10 talent and all they will need is a little luck to go their way.

I think this is quite accurate for at least the foreseeable future.

Very nice analysis I'd say, especially for someone who I thought was pretty against us joining y'all in SEC.
