Sorry I had to chime in on so much ignorance in this thread. Let me say this. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Atlanta. I know it well. While Atlanta is cleaner, bigger, and probably safer than New Orleans it really doesn't compare for a big time sporting event. I have no doubt Atlanta will get it because it has a lot of things like big business, infrastructure, congress center, and etc. going for it.
You simply cannot compare any city to NO for a big time football game, though. The advantages it has over Atlanta are these: You can walk from your hotel to bars, restaurants, and the stadium all within 10 minutes for the most part. The bars and clubs within proximity of the stadium that are open ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT are ten fold than to that of Atlanta. You can drink openly on all major streets of New Orleans and no one will give a shite. The food is regarded as arguably the best in the country, and there are many hotels in lively areas. Not to mention the incredible uniqueness and character of the city.
For those who are saying it has no advantages are either boring people, have never been, or just plain wrong. Thank you.

Anyone who thinks New Orleans is a Cajun food city should be instantly banished from a food debate.

That's why I said arguably but New Orleans is pretty high up there my man. I've never had a better meal and I've been to plenty of cities. Why do you think national chains always have "cajun inspired" foods(tastes like shite compared to the real thing but a testament nonetheless). You're just hating now.

And a hell of a lot more that agree with me. I've never seen NOLA mentioned above NYC or Portland as far as food goes.
