Being prideful that you're in the premier athletic conference in the nation is not the same as a fan of a school that is irrelevant in football(like volfan30 said) bragging about the SEC's latest success in football.

I can understand it from the schools who are competing for national titles right now because perception of conference strength is very important in determining who gets a chance at the MNC.
But the other 11 or so SEC schools bragging or rooting for "conference pride" makes no sense to me. Tennessee got our heads bashed in by Oregon in 2010, but because AU beat them, that's supposed to validate us?
If you suck at a sport, your "conference brother" winning it does not make you look any better imo. Just makes me feel worse tbh.
