It's been said that Muschamp has made off the record comments about the Kirby and the UGA DC job. It was also reported on ATL radio, but was quickly torn apart. It makes a lot of sense.......
Kirby never had any interest in the UGA DC job. Ever. He looked at it strictly as a business/career decision. Not out of emotion. Out of respect for his alma mater, and his UGA connections, he heard UGA out. That's where he made his mistake. Many inside the UGA program jumped the gun, and assumed because of his personal connections he would "come back home".
The ones inside the program who made this assumption leaked it out to former players(D. Pollack), and media members who continued to spread it around. Especially Pollack. Once the rumors were squashed by Kirby, that's when the smear campaign began. In order for the insiders to save face, they claimed Kirby backed out at the 11th hour and stabbed Richt in the back. Just so the wouldnt look like they didnt know what they were talking about.
Since then UGA has slung mud at Kirby. They all consider him the biggest traitor in UGA history. Instead of coming back home and helping Richt bail out water on his sinking ship, he decided to turn his back on UGA, and continue working for evil Saban. Who is the complete opposite of Richt, their hero.

In regards to Kirby and negative recruiting, it's all been gossip from the UGA fanbase, and excuses for losing talent to UA.
Ask Dalvin Tomlinson if we negatively recruit. According to what he told the AJC one of the biggest reasons why he choose UA is because we didnt negatively recruit, because we didnt have to. I'll take Dalvins word over internet gossip.

i won't pretend to know what happened there but me not wanting him as our HC has less to do with that and more to do with
