This is why I can't really buy the Clemson/FSU to Big 12 talk. Texas and WVU (no offense to the bunch of quality WVU posters here) think everyone wants to join their island of lost toys.

Not to mention, isn't half that conference ex-SWC schools, which to my knowledge was the dirtiest conference to have ever graced the earth? Hell, didn't Baylor try to cover up the murder of one of their own students a while back?

There's only 4 ex SWC schools there (Texas, Tech, Baylor and TCU) but yeah, the SWC pretty much wrote the book on being dirty and nobody was innocent in that conference.

The difference is clear.

SWC: A bunch of schools located in the same state fighting for territory who want nothing more than the others to fail and will do everything possible to make it happen.

Arkansas saw the writing on the wall in the late 80's after Texas' proxies took down SMU, as did A&M. Fortunately for Arkansas, the Texas Legislature had no authority over them. A&M only went along with the Big 12 move to secure the new basketball arena (what is now Reed) and to keep An n Richards from screwing them over more than she already did (filled the entire board of regents with anti-A&M individuals to get back at Clayton Williams)
