Why are alumni and attendees so insecure that they need to separate themselves from fans that didn't attend the school they cheer for?

What's even more funny is how booster members that donated large amounts of money get better tickets to bowl games over some while some alums/students are left out in the cold.

I never understood that myself. I have family that did attend UA but worked and retired from there. They're good fans that don't act like dicks and are very cordial to other fans. Getting money for college was a lot harder for them to receive at their time. I wouldnt call them "sidewalk."
