The ONLY explanation is coaching. In all three years that Chizik has been at Auburn we have exceeded preseason expectations and won our bowl game. Now the next two years we will be vastly more talented (based on recruiting rankings)so it will be interesting.

I don't agree with that. The reason I said "appears" is that I'm not sold on that idea, because if you take away the championship run, they've been right on par with the level of talent they're producing. They outperformed their talent level one year. The rest look to be pretty normal.

That's not a knock on Auburn, just an opinion.

Would Auburn have won even 10 games in 2010 without Cam Newton? I have my doubts. Thankfully for Auburn fans, and unfortunately for the rest of the SEC, we'll never find out
