Tha frick? Arkansas lost Petrino and has to play in the far tougher division, while Georgia returns almost everyone from a top 5 defense and has a cakewalk schedule. Yet Arkansas should end up with a better season? Makes no sense.

IMO, y'all play 3 other SEC teams (not named LSU&arky) that will put up a better performance than meechegan.

No doubt but I guarantee you Saban will have the team believing that Michigan is a top five team this year and they'll have to fight like hell to have a chance. That way when Bama beats the yankee out of them, they have confidence and momentum that will carry them through the season.

What fricking retard wrote this?

Auburn went 8-5, returns everyone basically, upgrades at coaching, and they'll only contend for a bowl bid? What a moron.

Well since Arkansas, Alabama and LSU are all in the same division, return significantly better teams, and 2 of the 3 have vastly superior coaching, looks about right.

Maybe he's taking the schedule into consideration. LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, Clemson and Georgia will likely be favored to beat you and all five did beat you soundly last year. In addition, you have a couple of could-go-either-way games with Mississippi State and Texas A&M. Hell, even Vandy in Nashville isn't the gimme it used to be. It wouldn't take much going wrong to put you at 6-6 or even 5-7, and it will take a significant upset for you to do any better than 7-5. Remember that it took a fairly big upset at South Carolina for you to finish 7-5 last year. I think contending for a bowl game is the right level to forecast for Auburn in 2012 right now.

Given his categories of things to contend for (BCS championship, BCS bowl game, SEC championship, SEC division championship, bowl game and last place in the SEC), which one do you think fits Auburn better than "bowl game"?

And here I was thinking we were playing them in Atlanta the whole time.

I think auburn has plenty of talent to contend for more than just any old bowl. They could contend for a prestigious bowl based on talent alone. The big question is how quickly will they adapt to the new schemes on offense and defense and how good are the schemes they're trying to adapt to?

Hmmm, I can see how that would put a fly in the ointment if it happened. It won't. Bama by 17.

They expect us not to win our division, and you to lose to Bama or LSU in the SECCG and we go to sugar w/ Bama/lsu going to NCG...

I would bitch, but not too much, Athens is a fun trip. Even Atlanta was fun for the bowl game, just glad I didn't get arrested.
