Almost hard to compare the 2 teams here in the front 7, unless you compare front 7 as a whole. Bama runs a 3-4 and predictably has better LB's, and we run a 4-3 with particularly better DE's.

Special Teams: LSU
And this is our biggest advantage I think.
The bye week for LSU is also something that can not be discounted.
I still say LSU will win, but it will be very close and very hard fought. Like I said earlier I would prolly go something like 17-14, 14-13, or 13-10.
Either way that should be a fun week of banter leading up to that game

As a completely unbiased observer I say LSU takes Alabama this year. Twice.

LSU n a close one.
The best part is the potential for this season. If we both beat everyone else, this could start a great short rivalry. U know the ones that last for a decade or so and it kinda fizzles out. It will be a trivia question answer or something. If we met for the MNC and LSU won. There would have to be a rematch. Best 2-3 type thing they would cause alot of media attention. Making each rematch a big one for a while.

I don't yearn to be there rivals. It could never beat Bama/Auburn. More like the Florida rivalry we had when Tebow was there. Now they suck and it's no big deal.
Those are the funnest games to watch. I mean I get excited about Miss St but not like I do Bama now or Florida then.

LSU should win.
Should.
We have the talent and most experience returning. Bama lost way too much talent in the draft.
That said i'm going to be nervous as hell. Les could lay another egg or the pressure on LSU and expectation to run the table this year could mess with the team and worst of all... that beat down Jan 9th might be a scar that turns a revenge game into a " oh noo... not again" if something goes wrong at the start.
but...

QB: Alabama
RB: LSU for now just cus of experience, could change if Yeldon and Hart break out
WR: Alabama for now, could change
TE: Alabama
OL: Alabama, 4 future 1st rounders
DE: LSU, but Alabama will stop run better
DT: Williams is the best, but as a group LSU
LB: Alabama
CB: Alabama, Mathieu is garbage in coverage and Simon is the only corner I respect. Same can be said about Milliner, but chances of Fulton, Belue, and Dixon emerging as a solid corner is likely because they are all Juniors and LSU has freshman backups.
Safety: Tie, Reid and Loston are equal to Lester, Sunseri, and HCD.
A prediction at this point looks like Alabama, but could obviously change a couple weeks in.

I wrote a whole thing to cajunsuck, but decided that he was too delusional to even waste my time with. One example: WR. OBJ more receiving yards than Bell and Norwood combined last year.

I think that's what happened to Alabama in BDS last year. There was a lot of pressure with the Tornado and expectations to make it the perfect season.

I hate when you idiots say that. Good god you do realize you lost just as much. Chapman, Hightower, Upshaw, Barron, Kirkpatrick, Menzie, Harris, Smelly, Vlachos, Richardson, Maze, Hanks. Upgrade at Wide Receiver IMO, better on Dline, upgrade on Oline, and a better RB committee, but Lacy is no Trich. Around the same LB talent Dickson wont be Upshaw, but Hubbard will be better than Harris. Mosley will be better than Hightower. Sunseri and HCD will be great replacements but will not be Barron, BUT I think Sunseri brings something extra than Barron did.
Now lets look at LSU. Upgrade at QB cus honestly half the people on this board would be an upgrade, so thats not losing a starter that counts. Down grade on receiver, Randle was a beast. Same on RB. Same on oline. Downgrade at TE. Downgrade on Dline Brockers>Johnson. Lost all LBs except Minter. Lost Claiborne, Taylor and Brooks downgrade at Corner. Same at safety replace Taylor with Loston . Randle, Peterson, Blackwell, Hebert, Dworaczyk, Brockers, Francois, Baker, Claiborne, Brooks, Taylor, and IDK about Hatcher if he started.
Same amount of players do not feed me that garbage.

Nah, Lester, Sunseri, and HCD are better, plus dont forget about Landon Collins. Reid is very good but Loston is nothing special. plus, LSU is replacing Ron Cooper.

What's that? Let me guess, you have no clue you're just talking out of your arse.

Down grade on receiver

Same on RB.
We didn't lose anyone. How can you down grade when everyone plus Jeremy Hill returns?
quote:
Same on oline.
No. We'll be better on the OL. Josh D., our starter at LG for the last two year before getting hurt all of last season, is back. Everyone else is back. Collins is a far superior talent to either Hebert or Blackwell.

Dworaczyk
nope try again.

Good point AL, Loston is not proven. But Lester is better than Reid. And Collins will be a great addition to make 4 badass safeties.

That is a myth born on the tiger rant. I've seen the all 22 from that game. Bama was eating our oline alive with 7. Tey rarely stacked the box. On obvious running downs, they did. Other than that, their defense was raping our oline and making them ask for more wit 7

Reid is better than every safety on your roster.

And Loston is unproven but in the next breathe you start to discuss a guy that has never stepped foot on campus? you are brilliant.
