It is easy enough for pundits to banish the Aggies to a future not too dissimilar from the fate Arkansas has lived. The Razorbacks have been average at best and have enjoyed a win percentage some 20 points lower than their win percentage in the old Southwest Conference.

begging for a rivalry from A&M and Arkansas in one post
a new low for the rivalry starved Bayou Bengals.

We are open to playing them in the future. They can take their ball and go home, and their vaginas will keep bleeding. If they want to play cool, if they don't, I don't make much of it. We play in the SEC. We don't need them. They can keep spewing arrogance, and living in an alternate world though. Trying to convince themselves that they can replace a Thanksgiving game against A&M with TCU or Tech. Its quite amusing and pathetic.

I think your reading comp sucks if that's what you took from that post. A dig at Arkansas, sure. A call for rivalry? no.

Why not Baylor. They could call it the butt-hurt over A&M leaving bowl

One difference; Arkansas is located in....Arkansas.
A&M is located in Texas; less than 3 hours from DFW/Houston/Austin/SA and most of East Texas.
Arkansas lost their Texas recruiting pipeline to some extent, A&M's Texas recruiting pipeline will improve.
The Arkansas-A&M leaving for the SEC comparison is so fricking stupid and inaccurate that only someone with an anti-A&M agenda would bring it up.

Hopefully the Lone Star Showdown doesn't go the way of the Iron Bowl. A dispute over game expenses suspended the Alabama and Auburn rivalry from 1908 to 1947. The Alabama House of Representatives had to step in with a resolution to reinstate the rivalry. The schools were arguing over less than $50.
Did not know this....What is the story here?

I think that's a dig at Arkansas, but if you look at the stats, I'm pretty sure A&M's winning percentage already dipped as a result of leaving the SWC, too.
Looks like they are at about 58% overall in the Big 12 era.

well I don't like that at all

Right now the Texas fans are content to leave aTm off the schedule and watch them bleed in the SEC. But make no mistake, eventually the Texas fans will be tired of having only one game a year they care about. And if aTm starts doing well in the SEC, Texas is going to feel the pressure to play aTm or risk looking like pansies in the state they claim to dominate.

Agreed. Great post.
But there's one flaw...
While we "lost our pipeline", they didn't mysteriously move to Montana and we are still located in ... "Arkansas".
I suppose AMU will suddenly learn how to recruit their honey hole located 3 hours from DFW/Houston/Austin/SA and most of East Texas? Because losing to Lil' Ol' Arky 3 straight is a mystery. How did we do that to those Big Bad Ags? Can we blame it all on Fran still?

so you don't think that the fact LSU, Bama, Auburn, etc will be playing in Texas every other year will have any effect on A&M's recruiting?

Obviously you two scoundrels are not familiar with the new Ag Swag movement.
Oh, its real...

Arkansas went from 100% of their conferencemates being Texas teams to 0% being Texas teams. 4-5 games in Texas to 0 games in Texas.
You don't think that mattered at the time, and still matters today to some extent despite you now having 1 Texas team in your conference?
The same argument has been used against Nebraska and even Mizzou for leaving the Big 12; one consequence will be a decline in Texas commits.
A&M will still play 6-8 games in the state of Texas in a given year. At most, Arkansas will play 1 (if we go back to Jerryworld permanently).

It goes both ways; I'm sure it will help them a little since they can now say they have 1 guaranteed game in Texas every other year. At the same time, we can tell kids in Louisiana, Miss, Bama the same thing. All of those states have talent.
