What are the fan base's thoughts on Dr. Jones today? I know he caused quite a stir when the whole Bear/Dixie ordeal went on, but I was just wondering how the fan base perceived him today.
He was living in my hometown when he took the job at OM. He was my parents' sunday school teacher and has written multiple letters of recommendation for me. I have always thought he was a wonderful guy and sorta felt bad for him when all that went on.

He has been OK, it was mostly Pete Boone who sucked.

I think he's going to do good things, he just stepped in it with the mascot thing. Col. Reb was quietly fading but the whole new on field mascot move was a mistake then

I think many don't like him because he just doesnt come across as a sports guy honestly. Done some great things so far with UMC and the dental school in jackson

It's honestly not that. The couple of times I have talked to him he has been extremely nice, but not a guy that could make me open up my checkbook to donate to the university. And when you really get down to it, that's what a Chancellor's main job is.

It needed to happen eventually, people would've complained just as loudly now as they did then.
