I sure hope people don't push for Jeff to be fired if we do go the interim route. It is gonna suck if we have to find a coach and a athelic director. Plus Jeff Long he seems like a guy who cares about the program and the people in it, not just about the money he makes.

I'm sure some from HV will call for him to be fired, others will just burn his house down.

People should look at Alabama's misdeeds of the same scenarios as a roadmap of how not to do things. It looks like Long has done that so far, and I think it can't help but be beneficial in the long term. Sometimes people don't realize that what feels good short term is absolutely the worst thing you can do for long term stability and happiness.
People need to get it out of their heads about what could have been this year, because someone's personal decisions kept y'all from that, and that's part of who he is. You have to take the good coaching with the bad personality. So it might end up being just as good, but in the long run, y'all are MUCH better off. I don't think the masses understand this.

I'm a Tennessee fan who also follows Ohio State. As you know, both teams were recently in situations where they needed to scramble to find a head coach at a bad time.
Believe me when I say that it's better to go with an interim coach and hire a real coach after the season instead of tying yourself to an unproven commodity for at least 3 years. If Arkansas can't find someone they would be comfortable with for 3 years, they should go the interim route.
I understand that Arkansas has been successful lately and it would hurt for the fans to see what could potentially be a big year go to waste. That said, it's better to have a bad recruiting class and some disappointing results during the season than trying to take a shot in the dark and hoping you hit the jackpot. It could work, but it's far more likely that it would just prolong the misery.
