It's a baseball thread, but once again, a gumps going to change it into football...
Gumps didn't change the subject. An Ole Miss fan did with the following comment:
"Bama should seriously consider investing time and money in their other sports.. Saban cant coach football, basketball and baseball... Ole Miss should have swept Bama... Oh well"
Bama has been more well rounded athletically in the last five or so years than it ever has.
While a bit down, basketball has been respectable and is gradually getting back to regular NCAA postseason trips.
The men's and women's golf teams have both been ranked #2 in the country for most of the season and both teams have won SEC titles in the last 2 seasons.
Softball has been #1 several times and has been to multiple CWSs.
Women's gymnastics has been dominant (along with Georgia) for years.
Baseball (until this season) has made the postseason every year but maybe once for the last 18 seasons and has 3 CWS appearances a few close misses in Super Regionals.
Even Swimming and Diving has become respectable.
Women's basketball as well as track are the only terrible programs over that time. This baseball debacle has only been this year.

Any SEC team that loses a game to us this year should kill themselves. I'm looking at you Ole Miss and Auburn (x3 ).
That said, I'm not ready to totally give up on Gaspard. Over 60% of our innings pitched this year have been thrown by true freshmen. Let's not forget two years ago he had us one win from Omaha and last season when little was expected we at least made the NCAAs.

I've sat in both the student section and the chairback seats.
I fell asleep during one of the auburn games a few years ago.

at that Bert gif.
I had to throw in swimming and diving to make it relatable and exciting to Auburn fans by at least acknowledging that swimming and diving is considered a sport. I didn't want to offend any Auburn fans here.

I'm not inferring that you are, but I can't believe any Alabama fan would even be considering a move. No,this team isn't very good, but my goodness, look what he did with his squad the last two years.
They got off the mat in 2010 after almost not making it to Hoover, won all games to maket the SEC-T title game , beat National seed Georgia Tech in Atlanta and darn near beat Clemson to make it to Omaha. And last year the way he held that team togethor after the tornado was remarkable.
Lets be honest, after what happened in late April I don't think anyone would have been surprised or wouldn't have understood if they had just collapsed. I don't care how big and strong these guys are to come to practice every day dodging rescue trucks,TV skycam trucks, etc had to be brutal for 18-22 yr olds (let alone John Doe). They sucked it up and played very good baseball, pretty much eliminating LSU along the way, and made it to the NCAA's.
Guy should get more credit for how he guided that squad last Spring.

Gotta love the "College baseball is boring" argument from the gumps

I love watching the Braves and MLB in general, but I do find college baseball somewhat boring.

I just bet you do.
This is why I have no respect for bama fans. They claim to love the Tide so much but they pull this shite when their teams suck. I remember BDS in 2003 wasn't even sold out when we came to town. Biggest fair weather fans out there.

Nearly every fanbase out there is fair weather by some measure. Real fan dick measuring contests are retarded.

Yeah but Bama fans act like they have the best fans and they care so much more than anyone else.

For the record, I think every level of baseball is boring, not just college.

Not really. Except maybe USCe but they actually have supported a crappy product for decades so maybe they are right.

LSU was still leading the nation in attendance when our program was "down" after laval left.
measure that.

Congrats, y'all love baseball more than most every other fanbase. The same can't be said about your basketball support. It was a great feat getting 2,000 to show up the last couple years of the Trent Johnson era. Why can't y'all support your team through rough patches?
