Alec Morris
Played against him last night in a local flag league. Kid has a pretty good arm and throws on the run better than you would expect. We did pic six him once and pic'd him two other times. One of those ended it in overtime.
He was not the best player on their team, this kid was fantastic. Houston Commit.
Andrew Rodriguez
I know, CSB.

I agree with you about A-Rod. The one Allen game I watched on TV I was left with the impression that a good bit of Morris' success that night was due to A-Rod's incredible play. He's going to be a good one for Houston.

I was hoping Andrew would continue to go under the radar and possible join Morris at Bama at a walkon. Alas, Houston picked him up and will likely dominate in that system.

A-rod (his buddies called him that as well) was incredibly well mannered and likeable. Very talented but still great attitude and humble. His pop was at the game, was evident he comes from a great family and his dad was obviously really proud of his boy. I hope the kids does great.

he seems like a pretty big kid. how would you estimate his height and weight?

6,2-6,3 and around 235 for sure. He looked like he might not have been in his best "playing" shape though. Legs were skinnier than they should have been for his upper body size. I was really suprised that he moved as well as he did though. I thought for sure he would be statue, took our rushers a few series to figure him out.

i like that; a big body that can absorb some contact

we'll take care of that. phillip sims was chubby when he came in too. not anymore.
i think Morris could develop into a starter for us in the future if he works hard and polishes his game for a few years playing behind AJ and Sims. i think he will come in and immediately be competing with Ely for third string.

I think most anyone can do that.

Ely is GMAC 2.0 IMO. With 2 more years of seasoning he can be an adequate starting QB.

I respectfully disagree. He did not strike me as too bright and made some really bad decisions with ball several times last night. I was honestly a bit suprised, I though he would beat the brakes off of us single handedly. Their team was younger and more athletic than us as a whole.
I am not trying to be disrespectful or bash the kid, but I will be suprised if he see's the field at Bama.

You have to remember the context in which u played him also. Running that vs a College O is a tad different and he probably wasn't taking it as serious as he could.

He is a baller, won't be surprised one bit

Yeah, I considered that. I just was not "blown away" by his physical tools and ability like I figured I would be with a full ride QB to the defending national champs. Hope that makes sense . And yes, it hurt to say "defending national champs"

thats cool. thanks for your csb. i think the coaching staff sees Morris as a project. if he can contribute anything on the field in his career it will be a plus.
just curious and not trying to flame you, but have you been around many other college QBs to compare him with?

Only what I have seen with a buddy I went to highschool with that played at CSU and the couple I knew the school I did my undergrad at. Certainly not proclaiming to be an expert or recruiting guru. A couple guys on our flag team that walked on to college programs did seem to have the same opinion FWIW.
I agree he is definately a project and wish him the best, just not against LSU...
