It seems to me that a person who never saw SOS coach at UF in the 90s would say something like this.

So very true!

You've clearly never been to Alabama.

Honestly, I don't even feel like discussing it any more. It's obvious you don't get it, and probably never will.

TheSandman is correct. Florida/Georgia is akin to Alabama/Tennessee or Auburn/Georgia, but Alabama/Auburn it ain't.

To be honest I'm surprised there is even an argument about this.

I grew up in Alabama so, but I have my opinion. I never said Florida/Georgia was more of a rivalry, but equal JMHO.

fwiw, florida really wasn't relevant until the late charlie bell days, right? maybe not championship caliber but they were competitive. why is florida considered a destination school? they only have 3 national titles and no where near the reputation bama, usc, notre dame, etc. have.

Fertile recruiting grounds, great facilities, Administration who will do everything they can to help you win and will pay you handsomely, passionate fanbase, best conference. Plus with recruits today, Florida has been a great team pretty much their whole lives. Absolutely a top 5 job

Being a 38 years old Gator fan, I'd much rather gut stomp Georgia than FSU. Don get me wrong, I wouldn't pee on a FSU player on fire , but the hate ain't the same as with UGA.

I am 31 and if Florida only gets to win one game a year I would rather it be Georgia. Would rather beat Georgia than Florida State.

Stoops grew up in Youngstown Ohio near Pittsburgh.
He went to Iowa not Bama. I honestly doubt Bob about the same age as me saw many Oklahoma games on TV back in the day when we were kids before cable TV.

Stoops was born the same year I was. In the 70's he would have seen OU/UT, OU/NU and OU/bowl opponent...that's pretty much it. Of course from 1970 - 1980 the Sooners were 112 -15 - 3, so that may have been sufficient.

I hope he has success at Florida and then takes a job in another conference, because it's annoying seeing him run around screaming at the top of his lungs from the start to finish of the game over nothing.

This is Muschamp by coin-toss of every Florida game:

Apparently you are either going off of what you've read on here or seen in highlights and haven't actually WATCHED all the Florida games. Bu the Auburn game, he was dialed back quite a bit. By seasons end......he yelled less than Saban (which isn't saying much)
