Question for fans of other teams than Arkansas:

I've had the opportunity to see many of you sit behind a computer screen and preach virtues of righteousness and cast stones in Arkansas' general direction for days now. I never realized that we had so many Popes and Mother Teresa's on these boards. Tebow would be proud.
That being said, do all of you think that your respected sports coaches are well-behaved, faithful, drug-free, law-abiding citizens? Or do you think that they just do a better job of keeping their skeletons hidden in their closet?

In a word, yes.

I feel like crying...
The melodrama. The butthurt. That was pitiful.

I don't care what they do on their personal time. I watch them for football. If they need to answer to their spouse, dats on them. That's just the way I feel.

Boom is scared of his wife. Lorena Bobbit scared.

I think Dan Mullen exudes the image of a family person. He and his wife are both heavily involved in the football team. When Nick Bell was hospitalized before his death Megan was there along with his mother till Mullen and the team arrived. She is just as big an ambassador for the football program as she is. So yeah, I would say Mullen is probably above this type of behavior

We know Mizzou's coach can be a bad boy (DWI). I wouldn't be surprised if he had a mistress. I would want him fired if he gave her a job.

Meh. Bobby's always been a douche. I enjoy watching douches have some doucheness douched back their way.

I guess you forgot the lashing the BAMA fans took over the Mike Price strippergate. It's not just all about the piglets, everybody loves everybody just enough to not throw stones except when they can!

First, before we get too far into it:
Considering that Gene Chizik is notoriously devoid of personality, I feel pretty confident he's on much better behavior than your coach, and I would have said that before this stuff hit the fan.
What we don't need is for you to be butthurt about this. To say that you guys took a moral risk on this guy is the understatement of the century, considering your hiring of him in itself contributed to his history of fricking people over.
I refuse to feel bad for you now. You rolled the dice and got a couple good seasons out of it. This (possibly) ending badly was a shock to no one.

No way possible a HC in Mississippi at either State or OM keeps their job after something like what is going on with Petrino.
I have a friend who is a single HS coach and he was having an affair with a married teacher at the school he worked at. The teacher got a divorce to be with the guy I know yet the Coach had to resign in this situation. He found another Job but is now engaged to the teacher he was nailing and she still has her same job.

Meh, I never said it was. I'm just curious what the general perception people had of their coaches: ie if they truthfully thought that for the most part that are well-behaved role-models or if behind closed doors they were totally different people than led on to believe.

I actually feel pretty good about Cuonzo and Dooley.
And let's not act like Petrino didn't have a history. His leaving Atlanta was as Peter King said today in the MMQB, "the most immature, classless thing I've seen a coach do in 28 years covering the NFL."
edit: I should probably say that Dooley has been rumored to be a jackwagon and swears too much. But I don't expect him to run off with a co-ed. Bruce Pearl is your best example, and we all saw how that turned out. Maybe Miss Petrino can open up a second Alimony's (Pearl's ex's hair and nail salon) in Fayetteville.

Do Arkansas fans really not understand that Petrino is in trouble for giving a job to a mistress as opposed to just cheating on his wife? I could care less about what happens in your personal life, unless you are committing crimes, but to bring into the University was his big mistake. Go hire a chick you were doing at your job and see how that turns out for you.
