Will Gus Malzahn ever coach a game at Arky State?

Also, do you think he is wishing he were still at Auburn so it would be less awkward to go after the Arky job?
Eta Bonus question _ does Michael Dyer transfer to Fayetteville to help care for an ailing relative?

Is there a job opening at Arkansas?

Yes and no he will not become the coach of the Flagship......
Damn this is bad.

I think he's the most likely candidate for the job.
Arkansas fans love him
He isn't a slimeball
He can recruit

I would hope we go after Garrick McGee first to preserve continuity of the offensive system we currently have in place.

Sorry, I mistyped. Fixed it above (been drinkin)
I think this is pretty clean cut for him, don't you? Isn't this even less awkward than if he were an Auburn assistant (not that it would be very awkward either).
ETA: I'd go so far as to say it actually works out very well. His "demotion" to Arkansas St. HC is all but forgotten because he has every "pro" Arkansas could want in a candidate specific to them (besides HC experience).

I also don't think we would hire anybody until after next season. No reason to short change ourselves and force a small candidate pool.

I would be happy with either. Both can recruit, but id give the gus bus the nod on locking down instate talent. His wife will work overtime.

No really, is there an assistant job opening?

I think leaving a new job before you coach a game is more awkward than if he jumped from oc at AU. This is especially true for Gus, since he has hopped around a bit. Leaving AU as OC for the head job at Arky would be expected.

It could be worth the risk if you believe the talent available (players) this year is exceptional.

I feel like this happened recently, somewhere, didn't it?
Not to mention that the media coverage of Arkansas State and Arkansas completely overlaps, and that readers would choose to be very much in support of the move for Arkansas' sake.
