So neither PA nor Jersey are in New England. But Delware which is below both PA and NJ is in New England. Brilliant. Me thinks you do not know where Delware is located. Guess Maryland is in New England also.

Actually I thought Delaware was considered part of New England, but it seems Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont constitute the region. It had nothing to do with geographical location, but cultural identification.
