Because both of these teams are young, and are having to learn new systems. It will be much easier for the ACC teams having down years to recover than it will be for the SEC teams. The ACC has 6 schools in the top 25 for next years recruiting class, where the SEC only has 2.

Neither of those arguments would rebut the premise that the SEC is better this year. Next year's recruiting class is irrelevant to this year's team. The fact that your teams are young or have new coaching staffs only helps prove my point that the SEC teams are better, stronger this year. I am not saying there has been a shift in the balance of power, only that the ACC is way down this year and the SEC is a better basketball conference this year. RPIs and KenPom agrees with me.
