Nothing but a recruiting ploy by AU. But it won't work.

The shitty players will just be benched and will transfer anyway. The only ones that will stay are the ones that don't care if they play or not.

Saban is smart enough to point out to recruits that at AU, your teammates may be slackers. And that all you have to do at Bama is put in the effort and you're not going anywhere.

I am glad my school gave out the 4 year scholarship. Bama fans are in favor of year to year.

I don't think it will impact recruiting because a 17-18 yr old kid will think that they will not get their scholarship renewed.

BTW- UF had plenty of slackers on one year scholarships that would get renewed.

I know it's hard for you to look beyond AU when it comes to this kind of thing, but over 70% of the SEC voted in favor of this as well.
