Gotta hit some shots. Cooper and Hankerson have the confidence to do it. Lacey and Randolph need to find it.

Gueye has lousy feet. Very slow reaction to claim or reclaim position.
I think that's the price for being out of basketball two years and maybe coming back from an ACL tear too quickly. If he can stay healthy all the way to next season, I expect him to look a ton better.
Agree about the off time probably affecting Gueye. He also hasn't adjusted to the higher level of play as it's obvious that he panics a bit with the ball in his hands. I wouldn't count on that much this year but I'm still optimistic that he'll be an important contributor next year. Engstrom is more composed at this point.
I'm also optimistic about our tourney chances though probably a 7 is about the best we can hope for without miraculously knocking off UK in the tourney or something like that. If not, hope it's a 10 instead of 8-9. Have to have Green back though.

I agree. Lacey made one late vs LSU, all it takes is one sometimes

I thought Engstrom played well the other night. At no point did he look like a threat to score or get a rebound, but it looked like he knew what he was supposed to be doing in the offense.
I even thought Eblen did OK. I've never seen a more offensively challenged basketball player, but he did what he was supposed to do for the most part. But, I panic anytime the defense presses and he has the ball.
And Cooper FINALLY gains some confidence and starts shooting. I said after the exhibition game that he was going to be our best freshman. Then he gets scared and overwhelmed and scores about 4 points the rest of the year. Good to see him playing like he looks.

Agree. Engstrom still hasn't learned to get his body in the right position to go after a rebound but he looks to make the right pass on offense. I wonder if he can shoot 8-10 foot jumpers? He passed them up every time against LSU.

I may be the only one, but I like Eblen. He's not a SEC starter but I think he makes better and better decisions with the ball for the most part and plays solid D. I think he'll continue to contribute more and more minutes as quality backup over the next 2 seasons. He'll never be a scorer but I think he has a bit higher ceiling than most.

Great call about Cooper. Hope the silver lining of this week is that he stays as confident.

You guys just have to circle the wagons and push through this rough period of time.

After about five years of circling, we're starting to dig a trench so deep that it's getting hard to see the wagons.
