Were they suspended for the gange?

No one knows. People assumed and there has been in this entire thread.

They were sent home today. A GA is driving them back to TTown right now. That leads most of us to believe that it is more serious than weed.

I kind of hit the high points (pun intended) of the thread and was someone really arguing that it's better to have a hungover surgeon than one that had smoked the night before?

Doubtful. We are in a completely pointless discussion about the gange though, based on an Internet rumor. I think most people here assume that for them to be sent home, it's a much bigger deal than weed.

If we had to fire all of the really good doctors who still smoke pot, I think we might all die.

Not exactly. He said this:

quote:

Another question for the reefers--would you if you were having brain surgery want a confirmed reefer as your surgeon?

I pointed out that I would prefer a surgeon that smoked the night before to one that got shitfaced drunk the night before.

He thinks he is saving the world by preaching to a message board.

Exactly. I know of lots of doctors that smoke. esp ER Docs.

Do you think they are listening to Bob Marley on the ride home? what do you think they are talking about?

I bet it has been a very uncomfortable ride for that GA.

Bob Marley would probably help lighten the mood though.

There is a rehab center outside of Atlanta especially for high profile doctors. I think they have a waiting list.

I do not want a "hung-over" alcoholic nor a reefer making any decisions for me--sadly I have on the wagon Alkies as well as former reefers in my family and it both cases it is a "disaster". Take the time to make a list of reefers that you know who are over 50 years old and are highly successful---it will be a very short list.

I don't doubt it at all. Like I said, ER docs and nurses see some very bad shite. For some of them, it is the only way they can sleep at night.

I see bad stuff but not near as bad as Dr and I still don't sleep well at times. I can't imagine ER and Triage

Also, Dude, reefer is not the preferred nomenclature. Please, Herbal American.

You aren't really comparing apples to apples.....are you talking about someone that smokes and or drinks? Or someone that is addicted?

I think wording makes a lot of difference. Why was it important for you to point out only one person made that argument, after you had been discussing illegalities? Did you assume I didn't know differently? It just seemed like an odd response.

First,i never discussed illegalities or legalities, so you've already messed up there- i merely discussed team rules.

Second, you said
"I hate people" in response to some else discussing talking about the ill effects of pot. People, being plural, lends one to believe you think many make this argument. I was simnply pointing out that only one person had made such an argument in this thread.

quote:

When I asked why you responded to me, I was curious if you had assumed that my opinion on the illegality of drugs or lack thereof had any bearing on my opinion about the suspensions.

I dont.

quote:

Since your reading comprehension was already in my mind, spotty, I wondered if you were responding generally or to me specifically.

since you cant remeber what argument ive made, and which one sms was making, i wouldnt cast aspersions on others reading comprehension.

quote:

If you dont understand nuance, that's not my problem. This, for the record, is not an assumption.

Says the one who confuses what i have argued vs what sms and bearcat argued

What did I argue? I didn't know I argued a point. I made a general blanket statement and said you were my new poobah of posting.

"argument" may be too general a term. "point" is probably the better word. Your point concerning legalities and illegalities.
