Scarbinsky is a hack and has always been a hack. The only reason he is still at the Birmingham News is because he was the only one willing to take the paycut because he's a HACK! He's a piss poor writer. He's a mediocre journalist, and this latest article is an example of him mailing it in and being lazy.

I don't give a damn what the subject matter is, this article is an example of how you fill a word requirement without doing any work. You get a bunch of quotes. You intersperse said quotes with "thought-provoking" questions, and you call it day. If it took him more than 45 minutes to put this piece of shite together I would be shocked, and that includes his time on the phone getting a quote from the coach.


I have already stated that I wish things had turned out differently, but they didn't. That said, if you think Saban or Alabama is going to take a lot of heat or flack from this situation, you are fooling yourself. The kids found homes at other Div I schools in the SEC. It's over. No one will even be talking about it in a week. It's ancient history in a month.

Next year, there will be a whole new crop of 17-18 year old kids who believe they are the gods' gift to the game, and they won't pay any mind to what happened to poor ole Darius and Justin. It's just the way it is.
