If u hear the sirens, take cover. I live a little over an hour east of Joplin, mo. I used to go outside to check the skies whenever the sirens sounded. Growing up in tornado alley desensitized you to the fear of approaching danger.

However, after Joplin was destroyed, I can barely sleep if I hear the wind gusting outside. I'm ready to head to the basement at any moment.
