The rematch just reinforced what everyone was thinking after 11/5. Bama had a better offense and defense on that day also just didn't make the kicks.
LSU offense was horrible all year.

Most overrated offense on one of the potentially best teams of all time.
LSU's only chance in the BCSCG was to play both QB's, and for JL to have the game of his life for them to have a chance to compete.

They think because they avg 38 ppg that there offense was good. Alot of those pts came from turnovers and special teams, not the offense.
LSU's defense also could not flip the field for them. Bama consistently drove the field in both games.
LSU defense did get stingy in the red zone to their credit.

Exactly Dore. They needed a miracle out of JL in the BCSCG to have a shot, but Less didn't think he could do it after his 7 career ints and deer in headlight performance in November.

Yes, LSU is more talented than what they showed on Jan 9. That being said, part of being a great team is being mentally ready.
LSU wasn't.
They came in with the "We can't lose in NOLA" and "Im tha Prince of NOLA" attitudes and they got punched in the mouth and were completely shell shocked after that.
Saban had his team mentally ready. Miles didn't. Not saying Miles is a bad coach, because he's not. But that's just the way it went down that night IMO

21-0, I mean, Alabama totally dominated on D that day and made LSU look absolutely horrible.

As an Alabama fan, I've felt like LSU fans have put more of an emphasis on "beating Bama at home" than is warranted. Historically for that series, there's been an edge to the away team in more recent years. Alabama's relationship with BDS is interesting, because its teams have lost their fair share of big games in that venue. I always attributed it to letting the pressure to perform impact the level of play. For that reason, I thought the Superdome venue gave Alabama the edge.
I think that canceling those two out, you then look at the scores. Had the score been ANY closer, maybe they would be comparable wins, but Alabama just utterly dominated. It was far more impressive.
