Was 1/9 the worst loss ever for LSU fans?

Obviously losing a BCSCG is very tough (no other SEC team has experienced that yet), but I think even more was at stake for this LSU team. LSU 2011 probably would have gone down as one of the greatest seasons a team has EVER had, but instead it goes down as tanking when it mattered most, not even the best team this year, made 11/5 look like an aberration, etc.

Is this the worst loss LSU has ever had?

Yep. Anyone who says differently is lying. We'll recover though.

Not gonna lie...probably so. Not so much by the fact we lost, but just HOW we lost. I just want to know what the coaches were doing during bowl season - the gameplan was just awful, we didn't even "TRY" to win it. frick we ran the FB up the middle in the 4th quarter down by 2 scores. We attempted maybe two passes for longer then 12 yards. We gave up. Jefferson had three times more rushing attempts then Kenny Hilliard, who was our best RB going into the game.

If LSU had played like they did all season, gave Bama a good game but still lost, it would not be so bad.

While I feel this is a quasi-flame attempt, and you're misstating or slanting things, I'll answer.

In terms of magnitude, quite possibly.

But we've lost to teams we should have easily beaten. I consider those losses worse, honestly.

Pretty close.

Was going to post something about having to go 2-0 versus 1-1, about our best loss was to #1 (eyeball test and all). Basically all the Bama/ESPN arguments with an LSU twist. Throw in a few dancing bananas in the post for few good measure.

But it still sucks. Period.

Nothing to be ashamed of losing to the top football program in the country coached by the best coach. LSU had a heck of a year and was a solid #2 so this can't be their worst loss.
