Did LSU beating Bama on Nov 5th cost them the Natl Championship?

I personally think it might have. Alabama came into the game with the red arse and LSU was flat to say the least. Not saying that LSU would have defiantly won, but I think the game would have been way more competitive. It almost seemed like they didn't even want to be there.

I don't think anyone was going to beat Bama on 1/9 regardless.

Who can't get up for the BCSNCG?

I think losing January 9th cost LSU the national championship.

Good point. I'd recommend LSU pump the brakes when Bama comes to town this Nov. Remember, if you beat Bama in the regular season, you might be screwing yourself out of a BCS NC.

The Detroit Lions would have had a good shot to do so, IMHO.

Bama is already a great team, to have the emotional advantage spelled doomsday for the Tigers.

Yes and no. On Dan Patrick, Gary Danielson said that he thought the LSU players felt sorry for themselves and really didn't want to be there. Sort of a "we already beat them once, why do we have to beat them again?" thing. I could see his point. But Alabama was the better team on November 5th. They should have won the first game 17-6. A.J. ignored a wide open receiver streaking towards the end zone and Bama had to settle for a FG. There was also the famous Eric Reid INT where he never would have been in position to make the play if Brandon Gibson had run the correct route. Bama really beat themselves in the first matchup. They aren't three TDs better than LSU but they are better.

LSU fans are saying this to make it seem like they are still better than Alabama.....just didn't "get up" for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Notice every single congrats thread by an LSU fan said "congrats on the win. Y'all were the better team.............................................tonight."

using Gump logic
Tide beat themselves on Nov 5
Lsu decided to let Bama win on Jan 9
history will show
a win by Lsu
and a win by Alabama-
Alabama one the one that counted

If people are going to feel sorry for themselves and lose sight of the fact that they have the chance to be known as the best team ever if they beat a team they have already beaten, they don't deserve to win. They could have as easily directed that energy outwardly to try to kick Alabama's arse.
People better get used to rematches if they do a +1 or a playoff.

I suppose there are a lot of Bama fans on here who had the redass about being jazzed on this board after 11/5, and they're just blowing off steam. LSU is a great team, but they had a shitty day. I could see this LSU team blowing out Bama on any given day.

Blame it on Les....nobody else...Team could have done much better then 21-0. If that happened to us, we' d be on Saban' s Arse. As well...

No, history will show a win by LSU. What Alabama did is something closer to what the Indians did to Custer, or what the Sister's did to Andy Dufrense.
BTW, where was this logic in 03 when yall had to replay Georgia, or in 99 when we had to replay florida? Or does this logic only come out when Alabama beats yalls arse?

I still think Bama is a 10-14pt better team but the variation is enough for LSU to win a close one (obviously because Nov5 happened).
So, I can't say LSU is a favorite in a rematch after a loss but the odds are higher. I still think Bama shuts down LSU's offense but our offense might not be as mistake free or AJ might not have been as accurate. Being the hunter kept our team focus at a much higher level.

Dude, no one is going to blow out one of the best defenses in CFB history. In 8 quarters your team had 3 offensive points. Your passing stats are 105 out of 120 teams in the country. How are you going to blow us out?
Blow out is what we did to you. Blow outs don't happen in reverse.
