In one pre-game interview with Tom Rinaldi, I could swear Saban said he was upset with the playcalling in the first meeting and that he wanted more first-down passing. While there is no doubt I believe the report that Saban let his OC make the gameplan, I am certain Saban gave him a set parameter of plays he wanted and said first-down passing was key.
Saban has said many times he likes to throw the ball more. That AJ is capable to do it, they see him do it everyday, and that the WR's are talented and can execute the pass plays.
Sounds to me like Saban has let Jim run the offense without input for a while. And, now that Jim is all but gone, Saban may have had a lot more input in the offensive plan for Monday night.
Hell, I don't know.
