Now you're into revisionist history and changing the way the AP/UPI/Coaches' polls awarded title. It's fine if you want to dispute things before 1936, and laugh at 1941. I can understand that, but attacking the awarding process in the poll era?

No, just talking the most accurate poll for NC's. Sure some polls used to give titles before the bowl which was stupid. The billingsly report is more accurate than some of the inaccurate and faulty AP and Coaches polls that got it wrong back in the day.

Many of bama's claimed titles were awarded, but not deserved. The billingsly report fixes that problem and actually picks the most deserving team. 6 NCs for Bama.

That's the same kind of process that Auburn fans attack for retroactively awarding national champions prior to 1936. The Houlgate System did just that 20-30 years after-the-fact, in many cases.

Oh, and correction, AU has 4. 1913. The first NC by any SEC team and what made the nation take notice of southern football for the first time.
