It's just the grass around the MSC (Memorial Student Center) They also expect you to uncover (doff your hat) when you walk in the MSC. As the name suggests, the MSC & the grounds surrounding it are a Memorial to Fallen Aggies in Foreign Wars. Although I agree they are a tad cultish about certain things, I don't think its a bad practice to honor our fallen service men & women, even if they are Aggies. Why be a dick and dishonor American fighting men & women?

I would suggest you just stay away from the MSC, unless you want to buy some Ag Gear. Spend your pregame/postgame tailgating or hitting the bars at Northgate, like Fitzwilly's, Dudley's Draw, or the Dixie Chicken. They'll probably hiss at you (an Aggie "boo") when you walk in, but you'll have fun if you're not a complete a-hole.

Oh yeah, they don't really care for opposing fans to walk on the turf at Kyle Field. Opposing players, coaches, band members, & cheerleaders are exempt, obviously. You might find yourself under the sword & senior boot of a corps turd if you storm the field after the game!

Anyone can walk on the field, its just that you have to wait until after the teams have cleared the field. Lots of folks like to take their kids down on the field and throw a ball around after the game while watching the post-game interviews on the video screen.

As to the MSC grass, there is very little grass left around this building, and most of it is not on the side of the building that faces the stadium--that's all sidewalk. Don't worry about it.

here's the A&M grounds crew that takes a special effort to make sure their feet don't touch the hollowed ground.

Huh? What would possess Tigers to 'storm the field' even if they skull-drag A&M? As for avoiding the grass, it's cool. Everybody has their own quirks. As for uncovering in the Memorial union, I agree. I do the same at the Alamo. Showing respect for men who died to protect others works for me anywhere. But you can bet some dumbass punk in P&G will think he's cool to flaunt it and I'll stand by while some Aggies kick his arse.
