Auburn mens basketball is playing at Hawaii tomorrow. Ive never heard of a team traveling that far for only 1 game. Seems like a waste of the athletic dept money. Anyone know why this was scheduled?

Teams will do this around the Holidays sometimes b/c the rich boosters can afford to follow them and spend Christmas there.
Also, Auburn will probably get smoked b/c that's what happens when you travel to play @ Hawaii

Long trip and time change.....I think Aub gets thumped in this one.

I don't know anything about Hawaii, but it is our best chance for a win in this tourney.

I don't think they will shoot that well very much this season, but it shows that they probably aren't as bad as they looked early. I bet the outside shooting improves a good bit and Bama gets it going soon.

haha I thought they had played alright for most of the year, it was the first game of Bama's I watched so I didn't have much else to go on.

It's a Christmas Tourney.
Clemson, Xavier and K State are in it too (oh and Long Beach, SIU and UTEP)

Yep, I didn't catch the OSU game, but we looked like shite in the last two games I watched.

This is actually very big for the bball team. It is a measure of how far the team has come from last year as well as being important for RPI if we actually have a good enough year to be considered for the NCAAs.
Also, AU actually has a chance to win the tourney. Hawaii is a winnable game. Probably pretty much a toss up. The winner plays the winner of Long Beach State and Xavier. LBS may beat X as most of X's key players are suspended. AU would probably be favored or a toss up against LBS if they won. Probably would not beat K State if AU won the first two games, but this is actually a tourney AU could possibly do a little damage and win a few.
ETA: Also, AU has been there several days and Barbee is not there to let the team sight see. He already said AU would live at the gym while in Hawaii and nothing else, so I do not think the time change is really gonna matter.

Whoa bro.

considered for the NCAAs

Probably won't win because K State will likely be in the finals. We did get lucky with the pairings though. Hawaii is beatable and Xavier is missing their 3 best players on our side of the bracket.
