I like Miles, especially as a character.

But it absolutely blows my mind how the LSU fanbase pretends they weren't all but fed up with him just a year ago.

Now they're all shouting at the top of their lungs he's better than Saban. Just baffling how short their memory is, and how few people call them out on that.

Who's pretending? It's no surprise LSU fans are emotional roller coasters. What's weird is the fan base who you probably think is full of retards has swayed your opinion of his coaching abilities with their never ending negativity. There were some not wanting to give Saban a chance after 2000. Would you let that sway your opinion of his coaching ability?

People wanted Miles gone in his worst year, which was better than Auburn's this year. I don't care if you would rather Chizik, but basing it on the emotional whims of a few fickle fans is a weird way to make that call.

I'll confess that no one understood what he was doing with the QBs last 2-3 years and the OC was obviously horrible, but he fixed that.

The thing is, Coaches learn and improve just like players do. I think 2010 taught Miles that he doesnt have to have a flashy offense to win big. 2007 he had this and it worked because of talent and leadership. The next year he tried the same thing and it blew up in his face.

CLM is finally to the point that he knows what he wants to run and that it wins a lot of games. I think the next few years will be much of the same no matter what talent is there. And you will see more 10+ win seasons because of what he has learned along the way.

PS - The same thing happened with Chiz in 2010, now he needs to get back to basics and CAN be a great coach. I just don't think he is there yet, and anyone would be dumb not to take Miles, Saban, or Spurrier at this stage in there career over Chiz.

Good post swoop, I made it more accurate. I NEVER wanted to get rid of Miles. The ones that did make me

It was more of a "come on Miles, fire Crowton", more than fire Miles. JMO though. I like Miles. I knonw it is an AU question, but i would take Saban, Richt, Bobby P, Steve if i had to replace Miles.
