...and in order to make it the most competitive.

My thoughts...arranged alphabetically:

SEC East

1) Alabama
2) Auburn
3) Florida
4) Georgia
5) Kentucky
6) South Carolina
7) Tennessee

SEC West

1) Arkansas
2) LSU
3) Mississippi
4) Mississippi State
5) Missouri
6) Texas A&M
7) Vanderbilt

Before anyone gets your panties in a wad, remember the SEC championship game would be a lot more of a roadblock for the west champ than is currently the case.

Feel free to post your ideal divisions.

Take bama and AU out of the west, the west is no longer competitive.

If they don't improve I would put them at 71.

Add two more teams and then make 4 divisions.

East would normally be too strong in your set up. Doesn't seem balanced.

You have 5 of the traditional big 6 in one division.

That's a nice setup for LSU to win the West every year

I'd swap Ole Miss for UGA, if you wanted more competition.

You just switch Arky and UF from where they are now, then everything makes sense geographically and you don't have to split up the biggest SEC rivalry.

SEC Mason
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
LSU
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Texas A&M

SEC Dixon
Arkansas
Georgia
Kentucky
Missouri
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

Are you sure you don't want to trade Arky for Kentucky too?

i've thought about this arrangement too. only problems i see is Alabama would lose some traditional rival that they have a long history w/ like LSU, MSU or OM. Auburn's history is more w/ the SEC-E schools. Also, moving Vandy to the West gives the West too many of the bottom tier programs (MSU, OM, Vandy and Missouri). LSU would only have to worry about Arkansas to win the division.

So you're saying Alabama wouldn't win the east in that scenario?

Again, don't forget about the SECCG.

It's easy to criticize, harder to contribute. Feel free to try the latter.
