Do all of the Non Qualifiers know that the party is over

Next year the major bowls will go back to "inviting" teams to their bowl. If you don't travel well you don't go. They will have to make to the NCG. Do people realize that college bowl games were started by Chambers of Commerce etc. to sell sunshine, real estate and hotel rooms. They are going back to that. So get use to the whatever Vegas Bowl.

I think you're right, especially with the Feb BCS meetings coming up this year. You know the Big12-4 is going to squawk for change.

Boise is pissed but it's because they don't travel well. Why do they think they will make a big payday and not bring money to the party. They must have bought into the socialist agenda.

Long overdue. This is/was my only problem with the BCS system, tying the hands of the bowls.

there will be a "plus one" game next year and no automatic qualifiers or limits on # of conference teams. however, the number of BCS teams will be reduced by 2 teams because the championship game will use teams that have already played in bowls. or they can add another BCS bowl (i.e. Cotton)

Mouth the (XXX) Vegas Bowl all you want, but i would much rather travel there for a BCS game than freaking Glendale or Miami.

From the looks of the Sugar Bowl matchup, I'd say that day has already come.

Do the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, and Orange relinquish their rights to their respective conference champions?
Somewhat unrelated note, I think the BCS has done a pretty good job (for the most part) at matching 1-2 in title games. However, in doing so they have pretty much ruined many bowl games and bowl seasons. It seemed like their were more intriguing bowl match ups produced annually when the bowls were not forced to take teams. Its been a while since there's been a season where every team in the big 4 bowls were really the most deserving. Hell, I would say that USCe and Arkansas deserve to be in one of the big 4 before WVU, UM, and Va Tech.

it's an interesting discussion. college athletics are not supposed to be big business and are supposed to be about the amateur athlete. however, the ncaa has fostered the big business aspect and the little guys are mostly locked out (aq). on the one hand, it's great to get a boise st into a big bowl and get a big payout. on the other hand, it's completely unfair to let wake forest go to the orange bowl when they spend a fraction on fb what sec teams spend.

They're not waiting for next year. Have you seen the Sugar Bowl match-up for this year?
