Wow this is a very inspirational story (aside from his death). Didn't know anything about this guy until reading this page and such.

He would've been blocking for Peyton all these years.

Crazy. What is with people getting seriously hurt (aside from Burlsworth) before they get their chance. It happened to Chad Jones also.

You can also vote on it. Cool to see some of the stories for the finalists and how they came from basically nowhere.

I read about him a couple years ago and it is a great story. I wish there could be a movie made about him. If the same director of the Blind Side could make another I would want a movie about Brandon Burlsworth.

Not sure a movie with such a sad ending would be as fun too watch as the blind side.

I knew Brandon from the University of Arkansas business school. He was a really smart guy and was finishing his MBA before he got into his accident. I saw him the week before he got killed and he was a really big guy who drove an older Subaru. It was really weird to see him fit into that thing. I thought then, man if he ever got into a wreck he would never walk away from it.

Then a week later he was gone. Brandon worked harder in the classroom than he did on the field and would have been successful in anything he had chosen to do.

John Ed Bradley wrote a good piece in SI about him. I was young when he was playing, but I remember him against LSU, probably because of the glasses.

Terrible deal. I still remember where I was standing and who told me about his wreck. This boy did things the right way. And he didnt go around telling everyone about it. He will never be forgotten at the U of A.

As a Tiger fan, I always appreciated Burlsworth and his story. I drive from Harrison over to Springdale on 412 all the time, is that the same highway he died on?
