There really weren't that many cops downtown compared to other nights where you would see paddy wagons all up and down the streets.

I assume you're talking about Oxford, not Athens.

DT Athens Saturday night was ridiculous. Drove through DT, almost hit about 20 drunk folks stumbling through the middle of the streets. Saw about 10 cops just as I drove down Clayton as the bars closed.

No I mean there were a ton of people, but not as many cops as I have seen there before.

ETA: I don't actually remember seeing a single cop. However, in the game there were at least 100.

Never understood this, I've never had a problem in Athens it is always the idiots falling down in the middle of the road that get arrested and they deserve it

they are nit picky, that's why most hate them but essentially you are right. obey the white man ie the walk signal, don't jay walk, don't act like an idiot, and don't stumble and you are golden

LOL... Athens cops are assholes compared to CS cops... they'll drive your arse home or follow you if you're close enough.

I got 2 MIPs at a young age, paid the $100 and went on my way.... it was worth it and I helped out Brazos County's coffers.

if you start your car drunk in athens it's like an automatic DUI where as when i go to tuscaloosa that's their main way of travel to their bars

LOL, true. I was at Bama/LSU 2 weeks ago and drove back to the hotel after a night on the strip... probably passed 3 cops and they didn't look engaged.

Absolutely do not drink and drive in Oxford. Basically every single one of my friends has a DUI.

I don't see a problem with asking people to behave in public.

Nothing.

However in Oxford, they go inside the belly of the beast, in peoples tents, in people's houses, in bars, etc. and arrest you for public drunk.

It's pretty much bullshite.

Naah, I just didn't care about it. My parents are firm believers in allowing 18 y/o's to drink and I've been drinking with them since I was 16 or so. Actually I bet if you averaged the amount I drank as a minor with the amount of times I got caught, I bet my average is pretty damn good compared to most

I got pretty hammered after the game. Saved two UGA girls from a creeper at the restaurant we were eating at, then they took me over to meet their dad next door. He bought me drinks, then the girls took me to a bar down the street. Wish I wasn't married, I would have tore them apart.

Thankfully I had a DD, but I didnt see but one cop out on the road back

Yeah, but how did you get caught that many times? I drank a ton in high school and I only got caught with booze a few times, and never got charged. We just knew where to go to not get bothered by the cops. And how to hide it.
