They too lost to the number 1 team, but the difference between them and Bama is they could actually win their conference. I wonder if they are bitching as much up in the northwest.

They also lost earlier and at a neutral site instead of at home.

And they scored more points on us since the gumps like to compare points scored upon.

I think every team in the top 2-6 will be arguing for a spot in the BCS title game.
If Oregon wins out, do they go to a conf. title game? If they do and then win, they def. have a better argument for a rematch than Bama.

Nope. Both have been beat by LSU and Oregon was taken to the wood shed. Bama also has a better SOS fwiw

Oregon would have one more game, if they win out and that would help them big.

The computers love the big 10, the pollsters do not want a 9-6 rematch, the Sugarbowl does not want a rematch. The winner of the Okie / Okie State game will get in. See Nebraska when they did not play in the championship.

I think Oregon had more yards against us then Bama. And that clearly means Oregon has a better argument then Bama because yards mean everything.

Be prepared for a "stat rally" brah!

I wonder how many voters would still have Oregon #1 had they not played LSU...

The Oregon, Lsu game was not even close. LSU can win with Wing at QB.

But, that is going to change (given the scenario painted)
1) Bama will play Ga Southern...that will hurt them
2) Penn State (yuck) is going to lose at least 2 games, perhaps 3
3) Arky will have lost to LSU (relax Arky...I am going with the scenario in the OP: LSU is #1 team)
4) Oregon will have beaten Stanford and won a PAC-12 CG

Bama would destroy the Ducks, and Bama is the 2nd best team in the country IMO.

if they win AT Stanford they will.

Most of us agree. The OP is about the academic argument as to the "loss" and the "resume'"
I think it is a legitimate conversation.
Surely, I believe Bama is MUCH better. But, that is not the point.

If they beat Stanford that will make exactly ONE win over a top 25 team, I think.
All hail Oregon!

Whether Oregon likes it or not - it has one negative carryover from last year.
They lost to AU and then the very next game (albeit in another year) to LSU - the media ran with "Oregon- exposed, can't run with the SEC BIG BOYS".
Bama is an SEC heavyweight - so the default thinking in the daemon process would be that Bama is worthier because Oregon would only lay an egg against them too.
