In '89 Auburn finally won the ability to have the Iron Bowl in Auburn. Bama came in highly ranked with a less than stellar AU team. Au ends up winning that game, but more importantly, getting the game out of the stranglehold that was Birmingham catapulted it into an all new level.

Not to mention the 2.5 years of buildup that went into that game were epic and will NEVER be surpassed no matter what happens in the future.
