I will start by saying that this was my 5th trip up to Knoxville, so I have a decent sample to compare the trips too. Saturday was the most tame, quiet, and just weird that I have ever seen the Vol fans. Usually, they talk a little shite with us, come over ready to party, and have a good time, but Saturday, they were all in head handing mode. Once we got in the stadium, it was even more eerily weird. Only about 95K in attendance, and most of them just sat on their hands. I know that UT is having a rough year, and has been decimated with injuries, but it was like the fans were expecting to lose. Even after we fumbled the punt early on, it was just quiet... no crazy celebration, jumping up and down, or willing the team to a score. Overall, the weekend was a great time, but the Tennessee fans and atmosphere really let me down this time.

Side note... hung out with Bones and Da'Rick Rogers at Hanna's after the game. Bray looked like a member of the Bloodz decked out in all red.

Him and Rogers were pretty funny actually. Couldn't tell if Rogers was dressed as a clown or if that is how he normally dresses when he goes out.

Our fans suck and our students suck. I am a student and our attendance to this game was fricking horrible, and not to mention one whole side of our stadium is filled with people over 80 years old. I'm over how shitty our fans are honestly.

Like I said, I have been to 5 Carolina/UT games in Neyland, and this one seemed different. The 2003 and 2009 games were the best atmospheres. Saturday was just dull.

That's the by-product of us never winning a big game. Our fans have just gotten used to losing and it's fricking sad and pathetic. Neyland hasn't been loud in a LONG time

It must suck to be a Tennessee fan. First Kiffin, and now this. And we all thought Auburn was screwed after Tubby left and we hired Chizik.

2012-2013 is when we will see if we're heading in the right direction. If Bray and Hunter hadn't gotten hurt we would've been soooo much better this year. Our luck is just horrible.

I was pretty upset when nobody stood or yelled during the early parts. But at the same time, I don't blame them. First time I've ever left early, at least in a game relatively close. I left with 9 minutes left. I thought to myself, this is a waste of my time. Might as well beat the crowd and grab a table at the bar and eat.

It really is a waste of time. I devote 12 hours on a Saturday to a game and team I know are going to disappoint. That's about most of my free time during the week devoted to crappy football (and it's beyond crappy when you watch an offensive lineman jump offsides on a 4th and 1 because a player stomped his foot, two lineman fall on their faces on their way to block one man on a screen play, etc..).

This.....

No excuses next year though. I can't take it. USC tried every way in the world to give us that game and we still couldn't get it done. Sad but Dooley not stealing one somewhere is the only thing giving me doubts. I mean I know we are terrible right now. But at least beat someone you aren't supposed to every now and then. This game along with LSU and UNC game make me wonder some about the abilities of the coaching. But they will all get next year to prove their selves.

It's seriously comparable to the Colts this year...maybe worse. 1 TD in 3 games makes me not want to watch another game this year.

Exactly how I feel, and I stayed til about 4 minutes to go. But the thing that REALLY pissed me off was the cheer Inky Johnson got before the game. fricking pathetic, I was yelling myself hoarse for him and people all around me were sitting down and not even clapping. frick our fans, that guy gave everything for UT and our shitty fans won't even stand up and cheer.

That's the quietest I've ever heard that stadium. The fans looked almost scared to say anything to any of us, whether it was good or bad. I've been to Knoxville 6 times, so I've seen the 109K crowds and heard them yelling. This year, however, was much much different.

I will say that the tailgating atmosphere is the best in the SEC. We had a blast down by the river Saturday. The Downtown Brewery was a great place to eat, too

UT fans are going through what UGA refers to as "The Ray Goff Era"
