Don't try it if you have a dish. Sure an antenna may work, but the Birmingham affiliate is 60 miles away, right on the edge of good reception.

A little less than that actually, 47 miles from the CBS tower.

Go to Best Buy and buy a "Terk" brand. They have a couple of models. Both are for outdoor, one resembles the old rabbit ears from a long time ago. It is exceptional, as long as you are within 20-30 miles of the tower for their station.

I do not know the model number. Good Luck

But have you ever gone to Tuscaloosa and been able to get the CBS feed?

Yea, I got it plain and clear when I went in 2009

We're going to bring that, along with the dish...and the 3G network card as a backup...

If you have a dish why do you need an antenna?

Hope this helps any of you who read this in the future. We parked in the soccer field lot just across from Arby's on university Blvd. I placed our antenna on top of my suv in the morning, pointed at 69 degrees. Was able to pick up around 15 digital channels, one of which was CBS.

Fast forward to noon and I was no longer able to catch it. Well, brought some poles and such just in case. Raised it another 15 feet, still on top of SUV and it worked great!

Antenna Used

One of my buddies is an expert with the Dish and we had it working in under 15 minutes...didn't even take the HD antenna out of the box.

I must say if you can get it via antenna and there are tailgates nearby with satellite, then you have the advantage. You're about 8 to 10 seconds ahead of them on the broadcast. Makes for fun during the game. :D
