The biggest factor I look at to make this point is the margin of victory for each game and what Cam did in that game.

Thats what I looked at as well for the most part. Yes, the gameplans would have been different, but what Cam was able to provide for that offense was unmistakable. Im sorry but there is no way that Trotter, or any other QB, could have given that offense such an advantage. It was so hard for opposing teams to come up with a defensive gameplan. Having Newton in there made their offense so difficult to defend, yet so simple to orchastrate. Load the box and stop the run, Newton will pass all over you. Play safe and prevent the pass, Newton and the running backs gain easy yards on the ground. Another QB most likely doesnt give you these advatages. This is why I believe my argument was somewhat reasonable.

Maybe not useful and applicable, but reasonable.

It took an act of god for Auburn to beat Alabama.. by the time that game came around, Alabama had the perfect defensive play calling in place to stop everything Auburn had done to that point.. Replace Cam with any other QB that didn't show you their hand before playing - that game would have played out COMPLETELY different. For better or for worst.. I don't know?

As for the defense - the defense would have played different, because they would have gotten onto the field faster - or slower, because of the plays we would have had with a more pass oriented QB.. would it have slowed down the clock more.. or sped it up!?! Who knows? If Fairly had a little more time to rest, would he have been more explosive.. what if the DBs had less time to rest - but the opposing QBs did as well.

That's my whole point, with a different offense comes a different defense as well.. and changes the way the other offense and defense have to run their plays. It's ignorant to "take away a player from a NC team", it's just stupid talk, and is only "worried about or discussed" by people who are insecure about their own team.. plain and simple.
